Hi! I’m Victoria Edgington, a Licensed Professional Counselor with Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a focus in Trauma & Crisis. I have spent the last seven years working in the mental health field with highly traumatized individuals, including survivors of human trafficking, youth in residential facilities, and the families of fostered and adopted children. In recent years, this trauma focus has shifted to working with moms and moms-to-be going through infertility, miscarriages, birth trauma, and postpartum and parenting concerns. This passion was truly birthed through my own challenges during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.
In addition to being a counselor, I am a wife, mom to two kiddos, and coffee and planner lover. The two things I love the most are being with my kids and not being with my kids! I love taking my two kiddos on little local adventures, and watching them learn, experience new things, and discover their strengths and interests. But as an introvert and Highly Sensitive Person, I also love my alone time with my coffee, journal, and a good book…or pure silence!
My counseling approach is person-centered in that my goal is to hold a positive view of you and your situation, knowing that we are all doing our best. I believe that if we truly knew someone else’s life story, every behavior and emotion would make sense. I hold a safe space by normalizing, validating, and empathizing with your experiences, as well as laughing when we need to laugh!
